Due to the pandemic the EHFC Board decided to postpone all EHFC awards in 2020. Based on a recent ZOOM meeting with representatives from the five CIPHI accredited universities the EHFC Board of Trustees has decided to open the Len Hiebert, Environmental Health student research award this spring to allow for the faculties to nominate top student research for the 2020-2021 school year.
Len Hiebert, CPHI(C) key contribution to the public health inspection profession
was as the editor of “The Canadian Sanitarian” which he renamed the “Environmental Health Review”. During his 7 years as editor, he switched to a full sized page, added more photos, and technical articles. Len became a one-man army handling the preparation, paste-up, advertising, and mail-out himself. Following his term as editor of the EHR, Len was appointed Editor of the B.C. Branch newsletter, the “B.C. Page”, for a further 9 years.
